TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Niger Delta Scholars Olympiad (NDSO)
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the registration, participation, payment, and use of services provided by the Niger Delta Scholars Olympiad (NDSO). By registering for any NDSO examination, competition, event, training, or service, participants, parents/guardians (where applicable), schools, and sponsors agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
- Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms:
NDSO refers to the Niger Delta Scholars Olympiad, its organizers, officers, employees, affiliates, representatives, volunteers, and authorized partners.
Participant means any student registered to participate in any Olympiad, competition, training, examination, or program organized by NDSO.
School refers to any educational institution registering candidates.
Parent/Guardian refers to the legal guardian of a participant under the age of 18.
Registration Fee refers to any payment made for participation or related services.
- Eligibility
Participation is open to eligible students as specified for each Olympiad category.
Participants must:
Meet the stated age or academic level requirements.
Provide accurate registration information.
Comply with all competition rules.
Register before the official deadline.
NDSO reserves the right to reject or cancel registrations that fail to meet eligibility requirements.
- Registration
Registration is considered complete only after:
Submission of the required registration form;
Successful payment of applicable fees;
Verification of participant information.
NDSO reserves the right to refuse incomplete or fraudulent registrations.
- Accuracy of Information
Participants and schools warrant that all information submitted is true, complete, and accurate.
Providing false information may result in:
Immediate disqualification;
Cancellation of registration;
Loss of awards or certificates;
Permanent suspension from future competitions.
- Registration Fees
All registration fees are published before each Olympiad.
Fees may include:
Competition registration
Administrative costs
Learning materials (where applicable)
Certificates
Digital services
All applicable taxes, bank charges, and payment gateway charges remain the responsibility of the payer unless otherwise stated.
- Payment Terms
Payments must be made using approved payment methods.
Registration is not guaranteed until payment has been successfully received and confirmed.
Incomplete or failed transactions shall not constitute valid registration.
- Refund Policy (7-Day Refund Guarantee)
NDSO offers a 7-day refund policy under the following conditions:
Eligible Refund Requests
Participants may request a refund within seven (7) calendar days from the date payment was made provided that:
The Olympiad has not commenced;
No examination materials, digital content, training resources, or downloadable materials have been accessed or delivered;
The participant has not participated in any stage of the competition;
The request is submitted in writing to the official NDSO support channel.
Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds shall not be granted if:
Seven (7) calendar days have elapsed since payment;
The Olympiad or examination has started;
The participant has downloaded study materials or accessed premium resources;
Certificates have already been issued;
Results have been released;
The participant is disqualified for violating these Terms;
Incorrect information was supplied by the participant or school.
Processing Time
Approved refunds shall be processed within 7–14 business days using the original payment method whenever possible.
Bank processing times may vary depending on the financial institution.
- Cancellation by NDSO
NDSO reserves the right to postpone, modify, reschedule, relocate, or cancel any Olympiad due to circumstances including but not limited to:
Natural disasters
Government directives
Security concerns
Technical failures
Public health emergencies
Force majeure events
Where cancellation occurs before the competition begins, NDSO may provide:
Full refund,
Partial refund, or
Credit toward a future Olympiad,
at its sole discretion depending on circumstances.
- Competition Rules
Participants must:
Follow examination instructions.
Observe all deadlines.
Maintain honesty and integrity.
Avoid any form of cheating or misconduct.
Respect officials and fellow participants.
Violation may result in immediate disqualification.
- Academic Integrity
The following are strictly prohibited:
Examination malpractice
Impersonation
Plagiarism
Unauthorized collaboration
Use of prohibited electronic devices
Sharing examination content
NDSO may investigate suspected misconduct and make final determinations.
- Intellectual Property
All examination materials, questions, logos, designs, publications, training materials, websites, software, certificates, and digital resources remain the exclusive intellectual property of NDSO.
No participant or third party may reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, record, sell, or commercially exploit any materials without prior written permission.
- Certificates and Awards
Certificates, medals, prizes, scholarships, and awards shall be granted only to participants who satisfy all competition requirements.
NDSO reserves the right to:
Verify eligibility before issuing awards;
Withdraw awards obtained fraudulently;
Correct clerical or administrative errors.
- Results
Results released by NDSO are final unless an official review process is announced.
NDSO reserves the right to correct scoring or administrative errors discovered after publication.
- Media Consent
Participants grant NDSO permission to use:
Names
Photographs
Videos
Competition footage
Award presentations
for educational, promotional, marketing, reporting, and archival purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by applicable law.
- Privacy
NDSO is committed to protecting personal information.
Information collected may include:
Name
School
Age
Contact information
Academic details
Payment information
Personal information shall be processed only for purposes related to registration, competition administration, communication, certification, and legal compliance.
NDSO shall not sell personal information to third parties.
- Communications
Participants agree to receive communications regarding:
Registration
Competition schedules
Results
Updates
Certificates
Future Olympiad announcements
Communications may be sent through:
SMS
Telephone
Official social media channels
- Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, NDSO shall not be liable for:
Loss of profits
Data loss
Internet interruptions
Technical failures
Personal injuries
Indirect or consequential damages
Delays caused by third parties
Events beyond its reasonable control
Participation is entirely at the participant’s own risk.
- Indemnification
Participants, parents, and schools agree to indemnify and hold harmless NDSO, its officers, employees, volunteers, and partners against any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, or legal expenses arising from:
Violation of these Terms;
Participant misconduct;
Fraudulent registration;
Breach of applicable laws.
- Force Majeure
NDSO shall not be responsible for failure or delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including:
Floods
Fires
Epidemics
Wars
Terrorism
Government restrictions
Internet outages
Power failures
Civil unrest
- Amendments
NDSO may revise these Terms at any time.
Updated Terms become effective immediately upon publication unless otherwise stated.
Continued participation constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.
- Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Nigeria.
- Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
- Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between NDSO and participants regarding participation in the Olympiad and supersede any prior oral or written agreements relating to the same subject matter.

ACCEPTANCE
By registering for or participating in any program organized by the Niger Delta Scholars Olympiad, the participant, parent/guardian (where applicable), and/or the registering school acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
